Start service with evidence—not just installed agents.
Onboarding establishes the covered environment, responsibilities and a working support process. The sequence follows the client systems and prerequisites rather than a generic promise to fix everything immediately.

1. Kickoff and responsibility
Identify the client decision-maker, delivery lead, covered systems, service windows, escalation and change approvals. Record what remains with internal IT or another provider.
2. Inventory and access
Reconcile users, devices, cloud services, locations and licenses. Establish the required permissions through the secure access process and record unsupported or unknown assets.
3. Enrollment and baseline
Enroll the endpoint, email, monitoring and backup controls included in the agreement. Validate enrollment and document exceptions instead of assuming an installed agent covers every workload.
4. Backup and restore checks
Record backup evidence for named workloads and perform the restore tests in scope. Identify test limits, missing data and separate recovery work. Backup completion and proven application recovery are not the same thing.
5. Support-path test
Submit an authorized internal test through the agreed support channel. Verify receipt, ownership, human engagement and escalation. Record the outcome and fix routing gaps before handoff.
6. Acceptance and operating review
Review completed work, open items, responsible owners and next dates. Recurring service begins under the agreed acceptance terms. Subsequent reviews consider service evidence, material exceptions and roadmap priorities.
Timing reflects the environment.
Access delays, unsupported systems, existing failures and remediation can change the sequence. The onboarding scope identifies those dependencies and any work outside the recurring plan.
